I have two indoor chickens. I know that’s controversial, but that’s a different thing they need to be in for health concerns. These two have lived with each other their entire lives and Ash my grey one normally would be anxious without the other one around recently my other hen, Milo went broody for a while. And when she was done , ash almost seems to be bullying her chasing her out of their pen, but also trying to get under her as if she was a chick she’s pecking mostly at the head and tail and I don’t know why, they have plenty of different foods and minerals and this has never been a problem before. Does anyone have any idea what’s happening

Broody hens are disruptive to a flock. Even a flock of two. You will often see the broody hen getting pecked and attacked when she returns. If possible I would put a fence between them for a while so they can work it out. The one is going under the other to try to escape the pecking.

Thanks I’ll try this. Also I meant that the hen pecking on the other one was also the one trying to run under her like she couldn’t decide on whether she wanted to be nice or mean.

They could just be trying to work out the pecking order which happens after one has gone broody. Hopefully it is short lived.
