I’ve noticed my chickens feathers are all puffed and it’s not getting better. I thought she was molting but it’s getting worse. She’s the mother hen to my 13 chickens and isn’t showing any signs of lethargy. She’s eating and drinking as normal. I did notice she stopped laying about 2 weeks ago and her crop is normal and her stomach is normal too. Her comb is healthy and she seems to be active. I did notice today she had a big liquid poop but no worms in it. I don’t know but reading other posts she may have cocci? Maybe the pics will better diagnos her.

Thanks for you response but honestly she’s been puffed for a month consistently and stopped laying eggs. She was a daily egg layer till the i noticed her feathers all puffy. And her poop was all liquid. You still think she’s ok. She seems happy

It is difficult to tell sometimes what the problem is. Has she starting molting yet? That fluffed up appearance could be the start. It certainly would not hurt to treat the whole flock for possible coccidiosis with Corid in the water for 5 days. Dosage is 1.5 tsp of the powder or 2 tsp (10ml) per gallon of water as the only source of water.

She is molting but she’s been puffed up for over a month and she stopped laying eggs. It’s been in the mid 70° not sure that helps but no other chickens are puffy cause of heat. No panting or acts of being lethargic. But her poops are like water

Hens stop laying during molt, and mine always look a bit ratty or puffed. Corid is not an antibiotic, so giving her a treatment is harmless, and might help to easse your mind.

I have 13 chickens could I give the 13 hens all the same water supply with the Corid? If so would I need to throw out all my eggs that my healthy hens are laying? I probably shouldn’t be eating them if they are taking corid
Thanks
