I have a year old hen that didn't come back with the flock last night after free ranging. I found her laying under my deck this morning. But she isn't acting like herself at all. She's usually skittish but she let me pick her up and is walking slowly and sleepy. I checked her for injuries and she doesn't have any I can see. She looks ok. She can walk with no problem, drank a little and pecked at some food, but didn't eat much. I have her inside my house right now incase she has something. If anyone can help me I would be grateful. Taking a picture, not that it will help with what wrong, but who knows.

Forgot to add picture🤦‍♀️

Possibly she got attacked by a predator but is unharmed and tired from stress and not sleeping all night. When two of my hens where left outside for the night a raccoon attacked them, and one was killed, the other escaped just fine but the next day was understandably very tired and not moving much, she is fine now.

Ok. Should I just keep her in the house and keep an eye on her? Maybe let her rest away from the flock for a bit?

I just noticed your from Massachusetts too!😁

She looks a little shocky. Do you have anything in the way of electrolytes like Save-A-Chick or Rooster Booster you could put in water to give her? Pedialyte, GatorAde or PowerAde? If none of these, some sugar water will do. Put some in a little cup and hold it up to her beak. If she won't drink, put a drop on the crease of her beak for her to swallow, being careful not to get any in her nostril.

Do you have a dog crate you can put her in and keep her in the coop, in sight of the flock? That way she won't lose her place in the pecking order and have to fight her way back in, and she'll feel at home.
