Hen only laying yoke 🤔

Well, figured it out! Went to check on her and the shell was half sticking out - soft and like a straw. Got it out and cleaned her up —- hoping that I did the right thing and there is nothing left and she is okay. Worried worried worried!!

My 9 year old just layed a yoke only - unless she ate the shell and albumin and then pooped kinda on the yoke - which is possible. Would you recommend the same thing for her?
She is ending her laying cycles and has laid some tiny eggs and normal eggs randomly, but this was a bit concerning.
Warning: photo attached!

Thank you for any help or suggestions!!
My Hen is wonderful and healthy otherwise. (Runny poop may be from fruit!!)
I'm glad you saw the membrane and was able to help pull it out.
Do you think the whole yolk and albumin was expelled - any leaking from the vent?

At 9 she's doing good, but sometimes timing can be a bit off and of course the cycle can be shortened.

Yes, I'd absolutely give the Calcium for a week. See if this helps firm up the shells.

Get some Extra Calcium into her now, then once daily for a week. Give 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet.

See that she's drinking well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I do think some there is some leaking from the vent clear - I believe the entire yolk was expelled yesterday. I also found some albumin near where the yolk was later in the day while investigating more. She is walking slow and seems like her feathers are puffed out down low - like in the abdomen.
She drank well last night before going on her perch, and seemed normal this morning. But tonight, she is, like stated before, walking slow and feathers are puffed down low. Very little poopies today too.
I will give her the calcium citrate

She’s a beautiful girl! I hope the calcium boost helps her get back in balance. ❤️

With her being slow like that, she may have more material to expel. A membrane, soft shelled egg, maybe some lash, it's hard to know.

Hopefully the Calcium will help with that.

If you are seeing leakage (which may be partly because she's trying to expel something), then if she were mine, I'd start an antibiotic if she's not expelled more material and perked back up within the next day or so.

Do you have something on hand? Amoxicillin is a good choice, it can be hard to get. Baytril (Enrofloxacin) is another good choice, it's banned for use in laying hens, but many vets will prescribe it, toss her eggs for a couple of weeks at least while on meds.
