Hen or roo

Do I have to take extra precautions in the winter with a single comb?
Where do you live? I'm in the south where we don't experience harsh winters, so I don't have a lot of personal experience dealing with cold weather and chickens, but having a dry, draft free, coop with proper ventilation will help prevent frostbite. There are a few other precautions people further up north take in preventing frostbite, but I think her comb will stay fairly small and shouldn't really need a lot of extra care. Chickens in general are pretty hardy.

Thanks. I live in zone 5. We get a few days with negative wind chills and single degree weather. Mostly in the 20's.
