OK maybe you all can clear something up. i and which i thought to be a rooster till it layed a egg. i have been finding n egg a day in the barn after i leave the hens and roosters out. well today all the other chicken went one way and the hen/rooster went straight to the barn to the spot where I have been finding the eggs. I closed the barn door so no other chickens could enter. Ialso stayed in the barn watching the rooster/hen watching to see if it was responsible for the eggs. Iknow there wasn't a egg before the roster? went in and there wasn't any eggs. so Iwatched for about five minutes and low and behold there was a fresh egg just lay-ed . Ishowed the roster/hen away and picked up the egg and sure enough it was still warm as it should be. sooooo here is my question is it a rooster or a hen. picture attached. the bird in question is the brown one in the front row.

Thanks for any information.

It does have a really big comb BUT those are not rooster tail feathers at all. That's how I've been telling mine apart. Maybe some one more knowledgeable can chime in.

Lol i didn't think they could either. I've been suspecting the rooster was responsible for for egg but tonight i conformed it.

Your chicken looks just like my golden comets except for the large comb. Everything else I see on her looks very hen ish to me
