Hen Saddles - request for advice

With spring approaching, one of my 1-year-old roosters is mating more frequently. Some of my nine 1-year-old hens may be moulting, but others are losing feathers on their backs and heads.

I’ve bought hen saddles but have no experience using them. I’d appreciate advice on:

• Will hens try to remove them? How long to adjust?
• Do they become loose over time?
• Should they be worn all the time, including at night?
• What else should I anticipate or watch for?

Self- removal depends on the hen. I bought saddles that fastened with elastic and snaps under the wings. My “full figured gals” could not remove them, but my australorp hen is a Houdini.
I am now searching for an over the head and under the wings saddle while she still has feathers.
