Hello again,
I have a two ish year old Silkie hen, my sweet Juniper, who maybe a few weeks or a month ago seemed to be displaying symptoms of water belly, she seemed like she wasn’t breathing easily and I did drain her of a lot of yellow/clear liquid. I’d had to do this before with another much older hen so I am familiar… at any rate it almost seems like the water belly went away which was baffling so I’ve been keeping an eyer on her. Yesterday she was not acting right and as soon as I grabbed her she started dribbling almost a bile like substance but her crop was almost completely empty. It was not like sour crop, I’ve dealt with that before and again right now with my problem child, Misty, so I was very perplexed but I did end up giving her a syringe full of nystatin. Today was more of the same, an empty crop but picked her up and up came a bile like substance and a few seeds. I’d isolated her and removed food but shes not eating anyway.
Today I syringed egg yolk and nutridrench and some acidified copper sulfate water into her. That was this morning and I checked on her again and shes very lethargic, she just stands there intermittently closing her eyes.
She did stumble a little today when I put her outside and shes also doing a strange thing with her neck.
I’ve attached a video. Her symptoms are really baffling me, I’m truly at a loss for what to do - if theres anything I can do. I know that was a lot so thank you if you’ve read this far.
