Hello. Recently my chickens have been laying fairy eggs in an abnormal rate at 4 being laid in the span of one per week. Is this just a phase that will go away, or is it something I have to worry about?
Thank you

Most pullets (young hens) start their reproductive lives laying the so called fairy eggs. However soon the young hens quickly start laying first "pewee" "small" "medium" and finally "large" eggs. Hens who have suffered from New Castle or Infectious Bronchitis may never lay real eggs due to scaring of the reproductive organs.

More info is needed to warrant a viable cause and solution.
Fairy eggs... meaning size of a quarter and no yolk inside?
How old are birds and how long have they been laying?
Are all fairy eggs coming from same bird?
Pics would help, with said quarter in shot for scale.

Hello aart, I am very sorry for the late reply. My bird is 2 years old, and she is the only one laying fairy eggs. I always open them and usually find 1 yolk in about 10 eggs. I am wondering if I should invest in an incubator and try to create a new breed of tiny chickens.

Is she a bantam? Hatching her eggs probably is not a good idea because you definitely wouldn't have a good hatch rate if there is no yolk in her egg. Chicks live off yolk during 21 days of incubation. It supplies them with all the proper nutrients their body needs and they can't live without it.
