I'm a printer, woodworker, gardener and I make my own things....Homemade Hard Apple Cider is delicious. But my passion is my little girls, my chickens. I love spending time with them. They are not only entertaining but the best pet, in my opinion. I've had chickens for almost 3 years. Unfortunately I got my first 5 girls at Tractor Supply...not knowing that they were genetically inferior...the puppy mill version of chickens. That being said, my wife and I loved our first 5 little girls. We had Fatty Addy (The double yolker), Trouble, Runty Roo, our house chicken, Boadicea (Booty) and Angie Fierce (our smartest). Booty and Angie are still with us. The others passed away after devastating heartbreak with vet issues, feed issues and just trying to keep my little girls alive with every ounce of my energy. They are our family. We recently received 4 more girls from a legitimate hatchery. Two crazy Buff Orpingtons, 1 Blue Wynadotte, and 1 Brahma, who is completely adorable. They just turned 3 months old and they have a separate enclosure from the Hoop Coop girls. Their names are Thelma and Louise (Buffies), Cleopatra (the Wynadotte, since she has natural eyeliner) and Tattles (who lets us know if they're not together lol). I love watching them and hang out with them free ranging as much as possible. They get hours every day ranging wherever they want. The neighbors love them all and encourage their venturing.
