Hi I'm Steve,
I started keeping chooks last year, it was a project to help provide healthy eggs & meat whilst supplementing a low pension. I currently have 7 light sussex & 2 barred rock chicks. Of the 7 light sussex, unfortunately it now appears that 3 are roosters, so I now have 6 of our own eggs in an incubator, in order to try and increase the number of hens. I love the light sussex, they are such a beautiful bird and I have one hen that will jump up on the garden table to be stroked as soon as she sees me sitting there. She will even nod off while I'm stroking her, so not only does she find it very relaxing, but so do I.
