Hi to all! I am a state licensed class A Dealer and Candler/Grader from South Dakota. I have been busy raising chickens and selling eggs now for the past 5 years. I am now on my 4th new flock of hens and thought I'd try some different breeds. I usually have brown egg layers but decided to add some easter egg and white egg layers in for variety. Right now in the big coop I have about 40 hens (red sex-links, silver-laced wyandottes, buff orpingtons & americanas (4 of these)) and I get about 18-25 eggs a day from the lot. The babies (40) are brooding out in a very large cardboard box in the garage. They are about 3 weeks old now and love to sit on top of the waterers and "fly" down. I bought this batch from the local Bomgaars store so I hope they turn out to be good little egg layers. The breeds that these babies are as follows: barred rock, americanas, california white & sicilian buttercups. So what I am wanting to know is who has or had the california white and sicilian buttercups and what did you think of them?
