How is the best way to hard boil duck eggs? I can’t eat eggs but I want to hard boil and dye Easter eggs for gifts. My ducks are khakis and Welshies, so moderate size eggs. Thanks for your input!

For gifts?

Make a tiny hole in the top and a slightly bigger one in the bottom. Put a pin in one hole, cover the other with your thumb and shake the egg to pierce the yolk. Blow the contents out into a bowl and if you can't eat it, everything else will, dogs, cats and even the ducks.

Squirt some soapy water in, shake and blow it out to rinse, and then you have a lovely egg canvas to dye or paint that can be kept for years.

I steam mine on the stove-top. You need a lidded pot with a steamer basket. Add water to your pot to just below the level of the steamer basket, bring the water to boil, add the steamer basket of eggs, cover and reduce heat to just maintain the boil. Steam for 17-19 minutes (depending on size and number of eggs). Rinse eggs under cool water and place them in a bowl if ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cool, dry and decorate. (- and VERY easy to shell if you do have someone who wants to peal and eat them. Same results as an Instant Pot without having to have an Instant Pot! Bummer you can't eat eggs!)
