Ive noticed a lot of dog treats i use to feed have changed ingredients and i find them unhealthy for my dogs.
So ive started making treats. And wanting more ideas. And to share some of the ones ive done.
Ive done peanut butter, pumpkin and oat treats. Tucker cant have normal peanut butter so those were only really made for Denver. I havent tried dog specific peanut butter.
And Denver having the sensitive taste and stomach she has few treats intrest her enough to use in high distactions.
So i found this silicone mat

And today just tried to make some using canned dog food. As soon as the can was opened they were drooling so😅.

The first ones i did were just the canned dog food but they are a little crumbly not the best for training.
So i tried some with egg, canned dog food and oats somewhat blended. They turned out much better.
And just to experiment i did canned food oats and water. They turned out similar to the way the egg ones did.

It made around 800 treats from one can of food.

I used Natures Logic canned food but im sure any brand will work.

For the first recipe i had just spread it on the silicone mold.

For the second recipe i added one bantam sized egg with 3 ish spoons of blended oats.

For the third was about a tablespoon of water and 3 spoons of oats. I should have actually measured.

They all were baked at 350 degrees for around 25 minutes. I would have froze some to without baking but Tucker cant have ice so.

Im going to try a pumpkin and oat one next then maybe try beef ones.

Any treat recipes are welcome to be shared!

The only treat recipe I have is peanut butter dog cookies, and you said your dog can't have peanut butter. I make my own peanut butter, and the only ingredient is dry roasted peanuts. Would you be able to use that?

Maybe if you wouldnt mind sharing!

Oh, yes, I see the link. Thank you.

Peanut butter dog biscuits

1 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter (I use home made)
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder

Mix the milk and peanut butter together. In a separate bowl, stir the flour and baking powder together. Mix the dry ingredients with the milk/PB.

Roll out 1/4" thick and cut into biscuits of any size/shape. Bake at 375 on an ungreased cookie sheet for 20 minutes. Check at 15 minutes if they're small. They're done when they're slightly browned. Cool and store in the fridge.

Pumpkin spice "Ice cream" recipe:

Plain Greek yogurt
All natural peanut butter(I use a 100% peanut brand)
Pumpkin puree
Cinnamon

You can use as much or little of each ingredient as you want. You can freeze it in a bowl, stuff a kong and freeze, or freeze in a mold. It's fall but it's still hot in Florida so this is a great way to incorporate some fall flavors in a cold treat
