I have used lots of herbal remedies & flower essence successfully w/ my birds... not homeopathy yet tho... thankfully haven't needed to.
I'll watch this thread to see if anyone else has used homeopathy; I'm curious to know!

I have used tinctures,too- Arnica tincture on the worst sprained ankle of my life, instead of going thru the "black n blue" bruising stage in about a month, the Arnica tincture seemed to accelerate the healing process,I was at the black n blue stage in about 5 days flat!Amazing! Ive used it on my horses, too. My plumber mooched some off me,too,as it took the pain out of his injured thumb at my house so quickly he was flabbergasted...
This Arnica I m referring to above is an herbal tincture, which is entirely different than Homeopathy, the latter which technically is vibrational medicine -it overlaps into Quantum Physics, imo...
Wasabi, perhaps u and I may be the only ones that'll 'fess up to using Homeopathy...Lol...Its certainly not something I say much about at the hospital at work ,as its far from Mainstream in the conservative country subculture I live in(Maine)...Lol

Well I'm glad someone else here is into natural medicine! I've worked on both sides of the fence for the last decade (raised in herbology, employed in western medicine) & strongly believe that we are blessed w/ the modern science we have but need to preserve the time tested medicinal gifts from Mother Nature... perhaps thats why a lot of us are here on BYC;
to gain insight on how chicken husbandry has survived & evolved over the centuries. I know there are lots of old timers here who are a wealth of knowledge & swear by the simple, common sense practices that were handed down to them.
I LOVE arnica: unfortunately it doesnt grow well where I live so I have to resort to buying it (tinctures, oils, homeopathy pills... *The gels are amazing & are now widely sold in "main stream" pharmacies like Walgreens!)
It has established quite a reputation in the professional sports world so I hope that anyone who thinks we're just a little too "natural" will at least consider arnica as an option for anyone's (including animals!) bruises, sprains, trauma/damaged tissues... like I said, you can get it almost anywhere in gel form since it is now acknowledge in modern medicine.
*Please note: The homeopathic form of arnica is the only way to take it internally unless closely supervised by a healthcare professional!
All other forms are to be used externally.
Happy healing to all!

Last wk I had the must amazing(and slightly bizarre)healing experience with the homeopathic remedy Merc solubilis for a reoccurring ear/tooth problem.....this is after a root canal,ABX,u name it,I tried it...the remedy brought the stuff causing the problem OUT of my ear/tooth within hrs...cant say how many dental visits I'd had to no avail, but the remedy did it!!!
I have to say,Belladonna 200c worked great for the chronic nerve pain at the jaw, too, from all the past inflammation and from shots at the dentists at the nerve plexus(imo).
Probably too much information, but maybe someone can use it...Lol

Hi guys my name is Megan and I'm brand new to raising chickens! I absolutely love it...but I'm looking for more natural ways to heal chickens and my dog. I have started the ACV mixture in their waters and everyone seems to love it. I've been doing a lot of research on different sprays to help with abrasion and such things that come up with owning pets, but they all seem to commercialized. I also googled such things like uses for coconut oil and only got recipes how to cook chicken with the oil lol is there a good website any of you can recommend?
Thanks for any help you guys can offer like I said I'm new to this whole experience and just trying to do the best for my chickens and my family.

I absolutley believe in homeopathy, i had a very sick chicken, and i used sulphur and apis mel (to stop itching) and hypericum to stop pain.

And she is absolutley improving, i have never used it upon myself but, i have used it on horses and it has worked miracles!

I put aconite 30c in my chic's water shortly after bringing them home from the feed store. After dinking it they promptly calmed down and slept for 2hrs! I was impressed with the dramatic effect it had on them. Prior to the remedy they were frightened, peeping and running around the brooder. Not surprising considering their were hatched, shipped, sold, and a car ride home.

I've been using Homeopathy at home for 2 years. Would love to hear from people who use it with chickens. There's not a lot of info out there on chicken use.

I use it myself instead of the regular flu vaccination injections as I had a severe side effect from the conventional treatment. For the past two years I have not had any colds during winter. Even my doctor here in France uses it himself as he found side effects with the flu injections. I thought, if it’s good enough for him I’ll try it. So now I’m a convert and would use it for birds and cats if available. I also use arnica - l’occitane make a good foot cream with arnica, but watch out as they make two types and only one has the arnica.
