Hoover Hatchery

I just received my shipment from Hoover today. 15 Rudd Rangers. All DOA to the post office this morning. On top of that, they didn’t provide a contact number for USPS to call me for pick up. I’ve ordered from three other hatcheries more than once and I’ve received a call each time.

I showed up to the post office at 3:30pm to find out they delivered them to my house at 11am. The woman at the post office knew something was wrong with no peeps so she peeked and they were already dead. Not crushed. I presume weather, poor health, mishandling, or a combo. I live in Florida.
Man, this is why I'm happy I have this nice deal with Atwoods and Ideal Poultry. Also, living in Kansas gets me that much closer to the majority of hatcheries I want to order from.

So sorry to hear about this mess. I hope you're able to get them to make it right!

Yes. You are very fortunate. I am limited on options here. This was my first go at meat birds. I sent an email with pictures so hopefully they’ll make it as right as they can.

We purchased 3 hatchery choice colored egg layer and 3 hatchery choice egg layer pullet chicks from Hoover Hatchery. They are 2.5 months old. I was excited to see what they would be, but still am unsure. One is definitely a Turken. We ordered 2 Golden Comets, too, so I know 3 of our 8. Hoping my photos are good enough. They are just started to come out to free range, so can try when the go out later, too. The blackish one (#3) actually has a black head but transitions to dark gray with black lacing for its body feathers. The white one (#1) had a gray mask on its face for awhile and has greenish legs.

I ordered assortments from Hoovers in January. I went back on their website and looked for account information and they actually listed the breeds included on the invoice on my account. You might look there. I was surprised to find it (actually my daughter, the tech wizard of the family found it) but excited to have some information! I thought I had two lavender Orpingtons but actually had one and a lavender Wyandotte! Would have never known without that information. Hope that helps!
