I recently bought a programmable hose timer so the hose will automatically water the garden through a tripod sprinkler.
If anyone had used these before, am I suppose to leave the hose spigot open at all times? It’s programmed to water while I’m at work. And I doubt I will remember to turn spigot on and off daily, so leaving it on at all times seems to make sense since I use a timer. I just want to be sure that won’t cause a problem with the pipes or a ruptured hose.

That is the very purpose of the H2O timer, so it will do the job for you. I have the faucet on all the time, the timer turns on and off at specified time which I prefer in the morning 8-10 am while I’m at work. As long as you have a good quality garden hose it can handle it, don’t buy the cheap hose that expand and bubble when the day gets hot.
