Hey guys. So i know once i finally get the ball rolling i will eventually end up with a rooster (either by choice or force by getting straight run). And while i have no problems with having a rooster myself, the city does prohibit them (although if i get lucky and the little guy doesnt crow much, the city will probably never know lolz). What im wondering is whether someone has built a coop/hen house/bachelor pad (lolz) without a nest box. Yes you read that right a house without a nest box for the boys (unless my thought process is backwards on this and roosters do actually lay eggs, lolz im tired and my brain is trying to be funny... did it work). This is something im truly interested in. I cant stomach having to "take care" of them myself (being mostly vegetarian {not vegan, vegetarian} because my insides hate me) and while i will keep looking, im unable to locate anywhere that processes chickens. I live in the heart of Longhorn country (texas is known for a few things BBQ, rodeos, and beef. 🤔 I only just figured this out but those all go together like socks and shoes lolz)

I've put together many pens as well as a smaller house for roosters to roost in. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just needs to protect them from the elements and have and appropriate roost. There will be crowing. It is inevitable with roosters.

I know there will be crowing lolz. But if he happens to crow less id be happy. Either way either he would probably be sent to a rooster ranch. I attach very easily and very hard to my animals no matter the species. And each one lost still hold a spot not just in my heart but everywhere i look too. From my 1 leopard geck, 1 gargoyle gecko, and 2 crested geckos all the way up to the horse i had in my early teens and every thing in between (4 cats, dozens of fish, and 1 dog {he hurt the most}) they all have special reminders ive dedicated just for them (except the fish. I have one reminder of each species because there were so many lolz). I expect my little featherbrains wont be any different.
