How big are Swedish Orust chicken eggs?

Anyone have experience with Swedish Orust Chickens? A local breeder just gave me her first egg from her breeding pair (not their first egg just the first she has received), and the egg seems super small. It is like a bantam size egg. I know they lay small to medium sized eggs, but I want to make sure it isn't too small to hatch.

If you have eggs and can send a size comparison that would be much appreciated. Maybe an egg next to a quarter?

Hello. Did anyone ever respond? Did you try to hatch the egg? I have three Orust chicks (4-6 weeks old) whose eggs I hope to hatch someday. I don't know the exact size their eggs should be, but I suspect that the little egg you were given was from a young layer. My experience is that you're often better off waiting until the hen has been laying longer before hatching the eggs. Though of course I have had chickens go broody and hatch out eggs shortly after starting to lay. And it's been successful at times as well. Let me know about your hatch!
