I have an American Game who is aggressive and as of present , dangerous to my flock. Does anybody here tie up aggressive roosters? By tie up I mean have a rope (ect) to one foot and that rope tied to a tree or some other structure? Can you make something like that diy?

I’m working with an aggressive rooster now, but not toward my flock just toward humans. If he’s hurting your flock that’s a whole other story. How is he hurting them?

He will be really Tasty with mashed potatoes and gravy.. :) I personally had no luck with the aggressive rooster we had. He was aggressive toward everyone and everything except the girls.. lol
:lau No i m afraid I want to keep this one. But to answer @hysop reply I don't have an extra cage on hand. My chicks (who are in the process of intergrating ) are using t.:) So I want a way to let it get a little greens until the chicks get done with the cage.

Maybe a ball and chain? Jk

Maybe 550 cord or something similar since it’s thick. Don’t use small, thin string because that can get tangled.

Just today I found a thin string tangled all over my female guinea’s legs and it must have been there at least a week because it cut through her leg but not bone. Poor thing. She’s isolated til she recovers. Thankfully no infection. I shoulda taken a pic for before and after but alas I forgot.

I've had a few I've tied out over the years. I use baler twine. The fiber stuff, not the plastic. But anything that's fairly heavy, thick (to keep it from cutting in if it does tangle) and resistant to tangling should be good. I make a loose cuff around the ankle and cut that off, then clip or tie the other line to it. This is so that there's no way they can make the cuff tighten by pulling on it. (My knotting skills are pretty poor, so I have to take precautions against that sort of thing.)

Some adjust better than others, and it seems to be a function of intelligence vs flightiness. Some initial treats make them calm down, and so long as they're in a grassy or bug-infested area, they'll distract themselves.

Do check on them semi-regularly, because sometimes, they do get tangled. And be smart enough not to tie them near a bush or a pole, so that they can't get wrapped around it.

EDT: And they do make professional tie cords, so if you want to go that route, Ebay has them.
