Im worried about making my girl bleed through her feathers. I'm dealing with a rather severe case of flystrike and no clue what I'm doing. Trying to search through and read articles provided here but at the same time it's my first experience with this ever and I'm stressing out over making the situation worse for my poor girl. How close to the skin is safe and are there any feathers I shouldn't cut when working with the entire area around the vent?

Have you soaked/bathed her first? I've never dealt with this but I know that separating her to a clean environment and doing extensive bathing/soaking to get rid of poo, magots and any part of the infestation before cutting feathers is then helpful for cutting feathers (or you might not have to cut any feathers.) With cutting feathers, only go as far as you have to. Cut farther out and then closer if needed and make sure not to cut the skin. Do you have antibiotic cream/spray for the skin and also something to kill the infestation? I'm sure that googling what products to use will bring results. Good Luck!
