How do I get my older chickens to let me pick them up?

I have 4 generations of chickens, and some baby chicks on the way. None of my chickens except for one will ever let me pick them up voluntarily. And even the one that does will try to run before she stops. I handled them a lot as chicks but they still won't let me pick them up.
They are friendly though, when I let them out to free range i sit in a chair in my backyard and they all come within a few feet and cluck at me.
But I also have a rooster who runs away when I approach. He isn't mean but he hates me .
Please help I really want chickens that will let me pick them up and be friendly to me!!!

Treats Treats Treats and Treats! Every morning i'd get a can of scratch and shake it around, Then when they all come running up to me i'll sit down with them and hand feed them. Keep doing until they are more comfortable around you then i'd try picking one up and petting its back..

Don't try to pick up the rooster....he needs to run away when you approach. That shows he respects you as boss as he should. They say don't hand feed him either. He's being a good boy if he stays out of your way.
Just stick to handling the girls.
