I had a baby groundhog in the porch with Obelisk all winter...didn't know what it was until I was doing a bit of spring cleaning...All three of us went different directions...Ground hog crashed into a tree and kept going...now he's back and eating the floor around the door of the back porch. I keep pouring mothballs in the hole, but I think it likes the taste...

My next stop is DH pee and after that is bobcat urine, because I KNOW I don't have them near me...

Any other suggestions besides an all night vigil and a lead vitamin?

I just found a bunch of boxes he's peed on and I'm not happy because they have my chicken emergency kit in em.

Filled a hole once with dog poop and they pushed it all back out. My farmer neighbor said they are very neat creatures. He shot ours. Then I shot one. Now we don't have anymore.

Whatever you do, do it before the g/h has babies.

Well, when I read the title, I thought, "Throw him out, or have the cops do it, and change the locks."

I've never even seen a groundhog. Wonder if they would eat One Bite (bromadiolone.) It is a rat poison that is supposedly safe for any animal who eats the carcass. Our rats sure love it, and I have dogs who hunt rats and mice, who have not gotten sick.

Of course I'd try something like the Pine Sol first.

By the time you dump all that stinky stuff in and around the hole you won't be able to go outside for the sstench.

Either get yourself a live trap and trap the thing and take it far far away or get out the gun and shoot it.

I know I would be telling DH to get his gun. I couldn't do it myself. I can't kill anyhting but bugs, mice, rats and snakes. Everything else DH has to take care of. But I would do the live trap if I had to do it myself then load it in my car and drive a long way from my house and leave it in the wood somewhere.

Surely its not like a dog and find its way back. Good luck, I hope you find a way pretty quick.

Considering it's under my porch...yeah...He's trying to chew his way back in through the floor near the door, so I want him to take a hike...

I have a pellet gun, so I know what I'll be doing over the weekend...
