How do I stop my young chicks from eating their pine shaving bedding?

My chicks tend to try to eat their pine shaving bedding from time to time despite the fact their feeder is right next to them, how do I stop this?

Idk,I would just change the bedding.

Shavings should be larger than flake, which do you actually have?

If it's a fine bedding, I'd switch to larger flake. I use aspen for bigger flakes.

In either case I'd offer grit. My chicks always eat some of their flooring, it's a natural instinct to investigate their environment.
