My 10 week old silkie has a hat that just wont quit. I'm sure she can't see. She misses out on treats and walks into the fence. I have tried tying her hat up with those clear silicone hair ties but they work their way off very quickly. She seems so much more engaged when her hair is tied up and I don't want to cut it. I know people do this out there...what do you use? mousse?

barrettes? I dont want the others to peck at her head so I have been avoiding colorful ties.

I feel your pain. I have tried ponytail holders to no avail. I finally gave up and just trimmed them up. I figured I wasn't planning on showing them this year. I would much rather they be able to see than to keep their poof intact. They are just so pitiful when they run into things!

I would love to know what the trick is to keeping their hair up.

I read on another post to buy hair tape from a beauty supply store. I don't no what this is but I am going there tomorrow to get some myself to see if it will work.
I have a few that have the same problem and I just feel sorry for them!!

Here she is. "Desiree" at 8 weeks. Her hat is even more unmanageable now. And that thing fell out of her hair in 30 seconds. I'm going to try the hair tape and the vet wrap is a fantastic idea too! I think it will work if I can get it in black so the others aren't alerted to PECKING HER HEAD OFF!!!!

get a scissor and carefully trim all the feathers directly in front of her eyes... including those from her beard....
