Hi Everyone,

I have 5 chickens and I would love it if they could come watch tv with me or just follow me around the house BUT I don't want poop everywhere I step. I heard that people use chicken diapers... Do these work, is this okay for the chickens? Is there a way to stop them from pooping on my couch without a chicken diaper?

Any answers are appreciated :)

About the only way to keep chickens from pooping is to not feed them...haha!..not a good idea.

Personally, I think chickens belong outside....but many feel otherwise.
Click link on search below....lots of info there.

There are members that have house chickens but as far as how they deal with the poop, I believe they either use the diapers or they follow them around cleaning up as needed. When a chicken's gotta go, they gotta go lol.

You could do a search on house chickens to see if there is another way of handling having them inside.

Well, not my cup of tea but I certainly love reading the stories about peoples' house-chickens!

As far as I have read, people do one of 3 things in order to have a house-chicken:
-use a diaper (there are several reviews, patters to make your own, etc on here just do a search)
-follow and clean poop as needed and/or set the chicken on a towel and clean the towel as needed, or
-TRAIN YOUR CHICKEN! Apparently some folks have been able to train their chicken regarding pooping. See the following threads:

There is a reason why you have a Coop and Run.......They poop steady.......lol.......I would never bring my birds into my house.......One got in last summer as my Screen door was being installed....She pooped in his toolbox and ran into my Sons room as I tried catching her.....Pooped on his bed.......

Your call, but they are Dusty, dirty Birds.....I love them outside.........

Cheers!
