How do you store your canning jars/lids?

Now that we have nearly eaten through my first year's canning supply, I have all of the empty jars and lids/rings to match piling up. How do you all store them until canning begins again?

I keep the boxes that came with my brand new jars and put them back in the box and store them on the shelf that I store my canned goods on, until next canning season... BF built me a nice shelf in the basement where I keep my canned goods. They of course will need to be sanitized again before use again due to dust in the basement but at least they are stored out of the way...

First off, I have a super nice husband that lets me use all of his nice lumber to build things I don't absolutely need. So I made him put shelves in the pantry, and when I filled those, I made him put more, and then I didn't have room for all of my new bigger jars and third canner. So he built me a little area out in the shed that the kids play in. I can for about 3 months solid, then I'm done for the year, so I don't really see any reason to keep a room full of jars in the house that will need to be washed and sanitized anyways.

So I do the same as jwg. I keep all of the boxes and put the jars back in and put them on the shelves in the shed. Then I keep all of my lids in a plastic bucket with a lid, and I always put a bag of rice in there to help keep the moisture off and keep them from rusting. I do keep all the new seals inside in their boxes in the pantry, I'm always afraid they will get too hot outside. I just asked the other day if he could add more shelves because I just raided his mom's sauna bath where she kept all of her canning jars that she no longer uses. JACKPOT!

Besides keeping the boxes that the jars came in, I use paper grocery bags. Laid on their side and stacked I can get 12 jars per bag. I tape them closed and put the bag inside a kitchen trash bag to seal out the bugs and store the package in the barn on a shelf. The lids and rims, I keep in a basket in the pantry.
MY MIL stores hers on a wire rack she got from an old bakery. She keeps that in the garage.

Lids used in canning will need to be replaced each season. The rims are reuseable.

Thanks all! I have done what you all have suggested, saving the original boxes to use as storage. I organized everything last night and I feel better. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything big on the jar storage front!

I put the jars on the shelf in back of what I took it from. That way as I use the canning up, other stuff doesn't migrate to that shelf. Then I don't need to find a place for all the junk when I refill my canning.

The rings I thread onto an wire hanger that I untwisted enough so that I can put the rings on, re-hook it and hang it on a shelf bracket in the pantry
