How long will a rooster stay dominant with younger roosters around?

We have a 3 year old rooster who is the alpha and his two sons, who are 1 year old roosters. How long will the Daddy Rooster stay alpha over his sons? It seems to me he is slowly allowing them to mate more than he was and he doesn't always chase them off the hens. We have 3 roosters and 26 hens. Thanks!

In the normal progression of things the cockerels will double team and depose him. It may take a while, but it generally does. It's nearly to put a 'time frame' on it.
