How many days is a hen open to new chicks

Hello, I have two sets of chicks a week apart in age. I’m wondering what the time frame is to add a few more to a broody hen that I gave the older set of chicks to, if at all possible?

I would say that stands to be about a 50% chance it will work. Your hen will see the difference in size and might peck the younger ones. It's worth a try though. I would give her one during the daytime when she's out with them. See if you could sneak it in with the other chicks behind her back, then watch what she does. If it goes well, try another then wait a few minutes, and another, etc.
