Thanks for your helpHello, in my experience having Ducks and Chickens in the same pen doesn't work...You will want no less than 3 Ducks. If you get a Drake he could kill a Chicken if he breeds it..Ducks are messy with water...
Thanks for your help yes I think I might need 10 or maybe more lolHello, in my experience having Ducks and Chickens in the same pen doesn't work...You will want no less than 3 Ducks. If you get a Drake he could kill a Chicken if he breeds it..Ducks are messy with water...
Your welcome..All you can do is try. I have Call Ducks and Big Orpington Hens and a Huge Brahma Rooster..My Calls absolutely hate the Chickens so I have a mesh fence up to keep them separated as they forage. If a Chicken happens to get loose..My Calls chase the Chicken..Thanks for your help yes I think I might need 10 or maybe more lolyes I don’t want to get a drake I don’t want him mating with my chickens thanks for your help

x2This sounds like a math question. LET me help you out, 2. You should get 2 ducks ...no wait 4. Hmmm better yet 10. Yes 10 ducks.
Seriously though, ducks are companion birds and need at least one of their own kind.
If you end up with a drake and duck hen, you should really have at least 3 duck hens to one drake. If it is just two duck hens, you should be fine.
As well, if you end up with a drake and do not have the right ratio. Keep him separate from your chickens because he could try to mate with them which would be disastrous.
This is true, I don't own large ducks though so it hasn't happened to me.Hello, in my experience having Ducks and Chickens in the same pen doesn't work...You will want no less than 3 Ducks. If you get a Drake he could kill a Chicken if he breeds it..Ducks are messy with water...
This probably could happen. However, mine have never injured them. They probably don't mind my chickens so much because they have lived with the chickens for a year now. And they realized that chickens have boring lives with no concern of theirs. (This is the ducks, not me.)Your welcome..All you can do is try. Best wishes...
I had a Huge Chicken land on my one young Call Hen and injured her neck in the commotion of the others chasing the Chickens. She healed though..That's her in my avatar. This probably could happen.
