how many ducks on a dam without affecting water quality?

I've been 'informed' that ducks on a dam will affect the water quality and the cattle will refuse to drink there anymore so I am therefore required to sell/rehouse my ducks before they pollute the dam water. How much space do ducks need before water quality is affected? I must present a case to a board tomorrow night to try and change their minds...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your case won't do well, ducks and other water fowl do pollute the water pretty much, but so do the cattle themselves. Since the opposed side is trying to have clean water for cattle, the blame is all on the ducks. Ducks produce coli and it is just plain bad for the water. Can't you just fill up your own kitty pool and build a pen for them to stay in?
