Eggcept ski hills - they love the snow.


18 eggs today including 2 silkies and a blue egg with calcium build up - I picked one and it came away from the membrane - that will be an egg I use.

When my husband read that to me I just had to share with everyone.

I worked at a ski hill here (HR & H&S manager) it was an awesome location they had. Interesting job, paid crap but it was interesting.

I finally had a second pullet come off the Freeloader List! For the past few days, I've gotten one big, reddish egg from my Sapphire Gem and a teeny tiny pullet egg from one of my younger Nankin Bantams. I haven't had a chance to see which one yet. I don't have the heart to pull them off the roost in this cold to check vents! I probably have two more eggs in the nest box tonight, but the stinkin' door is frozen shut and I'm not standing out in this mess to thaw it out. I won't open the big door to let the wind in on them, either, so, I guess I'll have two frozen, cracked eggs in the morning!

(1/24) 3! 1 duck and 2 standard chicken eggs from my pullets. I think another chicken laid but the egg was eaten, some hens had egg yolk on their heads.

(1/25) 2 duck eggs.
