One of my chickens is having neurological issues and I'm currently treating her with vitamin e but I'm also going to try vitamin b. I'm going to use a human supplement since I don't know if I can find one meant for poultry locally. How much should I give her and is overdose dangerous?

B vitamins are water-soluble and therefore are extremely hard to overdose. You can use 1/4 of a B complex tablet, or give her a few drops of a Liquid Cattle B Complex for cattle. Either will work, just ensure one of the ingredients contain thiamine (B1), which is especially important for neurological health. Also, if you go with the tablets, ensure it's not labeled as flush-free, or time extended, you want strickly plain capsules.

Thank you!

Thank you!
thank for the Liquid cattle Vit B complex idea - u said a few drops.. should i do it daily for a few weeks? see if improvement... she falls forward if she walks to fast (like losing balance?), or has to jump up or down to a spot (even if it's only 3 /4 inches she will fall forward)

I had a chick with a slipped tendon, when they were quite small. I was not willing to do any of the hobbling or surgery. I found out that tendon issues are usually from the mother not having enough B vitamin when she laid her hatching eggs. So I gave the chick a slurry of nutritional yeast. Then a couple drops of poultry nutri-drench. Then I would give her chick “physical therapy”. I would manually stretch her problem leg behind her, like they usually do naturally. It’s supposed to stretch the tendon slightly, and at the same time put it back where it needs to naturally go. I did that twice a day. She hopped around on one leg for about a week. Maybe a couple more days than a week. But started walking on the leg… then she was completely normal. She still doesn’t buy into the hype of new food, because when she was that wobbly little chick with one leg, she got run over a lot, poor gal! So she always waits until everyone is chilled out before going in for food, even now.
I know this is an old thread but thought I’d chirp in with what worked for us, with B vitamins.
I hope your chick got over the neurological issues! 🙏🏻❤️
