Hello, our young, sweet tempered Tom white turkey is very dirty.
We've had some crazy weather here in OR, and since he pastures all day, the* mud has really stained his beautiful feathers (particularly his tail).
Any suggestions on how to get them clean? Plain, warm water has worked to this point, but did absolutely no good today :/
Since the sun is out, and warm this afternoon, I'd really like to get him clean.
Thank you!

How cold will it get over there in the next few days? If the temperature stays fairly warm (Think about going outside with soaking wet hair exposed to the wind; if you don't think you'll be cold, the turkey won't either) you can let him soak in warm water for a few minutes and wipe his tail with a rag while doing so. You can also use a sponge to gently scrub the feathers.

Best of luck!

Thank you! I was looking at other posts regarding chickens, and horses, and something called "Cowboy magic", tide, etc... and vinegar water rinses (which sounds preferable to me) but, would rather not use anything on him that we don't need to.
