how to tell the difference between a peahen and peacock at 9 months old

i have 2 peafowl that are 9 months old one has a light brown under featheres ( under his top flight feathers) and the other has a dark chocolate under feathers. and i wanna know which one is a male and the other a female i know there is a male and a female i just wanna know.

Are they India Blue peafowl?

Normally the lighter colored ones are males, and the darker ones are females since the males get the rust colored flight feathers (or light brown when young) and peahens get brown flight feathers, but pictures will help us identify them better.

As peachicks get older, the females will lose the barring or stripe pattern on their wings and tail while the males will keep it.

Yes they are India blues and the male has his stripes but the female doesnt

From what I can see it looks like you are 100% correct. First picture looks to be a hen and second is most certainly a male. Nice pair Nate.
