Crossing the Road
polish tend to be low in the pecking order.I am interested to hear about people's experiences with this too - I have a mixed flock and will be keeping a Golden Laced Polish and a White Sultan (won't have the Sultan until July) with a Silver Laced Orp, a Black Jersey Giant, a Golden Laced Wyandotte, a Speckled Sussex, a chick that I'm pretty sure is a black Orp mix, and two other chicks I'm still waiting on - a Silver Spangled Hamburg and a Dominique.
The chicks I already have are now almost four and six weeks old, and I haven't seen any aggression among them at all. The Golden Laced Polish does seem to be quite timid and flighty in comparison to the other birds, you can tell she's low on the pecking order, and is the "runt of the litter" so to speak in terms of size, but otherwise seems to be healthy and growing. She spends a lot of her time trying to stay out of the others' way, but they don't take after her that I've seen.
