I hope everyone in the hurricane's path are safe and hunkered down. Francine is a category 2 hurricane now, and may strengthen before landfall. I am in TN (USA) and we will be getting the remanents. We are thinking about 4-5 inches total here. My ducks are going to be so happy :wee

I thought I could start this thread to help poultry owners that may not have been through a hurricane before. Please share some tips you have that others could use in their prep.

Stay safe everyone!

Cheap shower curtains from the dollar store can be your best friend. Much cheaper than a tarp but also tend to be semi clear. They won’t last nearly as long but chances are tarps are going to be much harder to find.

That's what I do during the winter! It helps cut drafts. That's smart to use shower curtains during hurricanes because tarps will definitely be sold out.

You are also looking at under $3 compared to over $10 for a tarp of the same size from a place like Home Depot or similar places.
