Hello !! I seen this wonderful website where all of you were helping each other with problems. I’m just gonna keep it real, yesterday my little sister and my nephew decided to grab a baby duckling from its mama and give it a ‘shower’, I told them to go bring back to its mama before it leaves. They didn’t listen so I took it and brought it to the mama, unfortunately the mama didn’t take it or i don’t know. She just left the duckling there, and it was a bit cold yesterday and the duckling was completely wet. I thought it would prob die out here, so I took it in and placed it next to a heater eventually it got better. So. Now I’m stuck raising a duckling, how do I raise one and why does it keep chirping a whole bunch ??

Hi and :welcome!
Where did this duckling come from? Do you or a family member have ducks?
thank you ! I mean, in my area it’s very common to see ducks everywhere and walking around. So they are basically wild ducks, none of my family members have ducks. I have one picture right now, I can’t take any pictures at the moment since I’m not home.

I see. What’s your general location? (Like do you live in Florida or California or another country)?

But for right now you’re going to need a bit of duckling food. You can get that at Tractor Supply or usually a local hardware store.

Then you’ll need a heat lamp or a brooder.

You can get a heat lamp at Walmart or Petsmart in the reptile section with one of those red heat bulbs.

The safer option would be to get a radiant heater from Tractor Supply, but that’s going to cost $50.
