Thank you so much! It makes sense. One of my Chickens is about 2 1/2years old.Ah, a fairy egg! Aka rooster egg, wind egg, fart egg. Yes, I understand a bit of tissue breaks loose high in the reproductive tract then goes through the process of being treated like a regular egg. It's supposedly nothing to worry about unless it happens a lot and usually happens either to young pullets just getting started or to older gals at the end of their reproductive cycle. Can happen after molt too though I think. I save mine, they just dry out by themselves and make nice keepsakes IMO.
