I’m confused about my chickens “rebooting”

My chickens have been laying about 2 yrs. I only have ISA Browns. 1 rooster and 6 hens. this is the second time in past 1 1/2 months they have laid tiny eggs. Does anyone know why this happens?

Ah, a fairy egg! Aka rooster egg, wind egg, fart egg. Yes, I understand a bit of tissue breaks loose high in the reproductive tract then goes through the process of being treated like a regular egg. It's supposedly nothing to worry about unless it happens a lot and usually happens either to young pullets just getting started or to older gals at the end of their reproductive cycle. Can happen after molt too though I think. I save mine, they just dry out by themselves and make nice keepsakes IMO.

Thank you so much! It makes sense. One of my Chickens is about 2 1/2years old.
