I am interested in buying a few rhea chicks. It might be a little too late in the season but I am really interested in buying some this spring/summer. If there are any breeders out there who could let me know when their eggs will hatch that would be great. I am leaning more twards buying in the spring but I would like to know a breeder before, so that I can decide on how many I should buy and how much they cost.

Thanks,

You are in OH, you need to go to the Mt Hope Auction coming up, here is their web site check em out and go if you can, you'll never forget going to one of these auctions, trust me! www.mthopeauction.com You can find everything you need to know about going, how to get there and what days they are selling what and so on..............

When I went last year they had lots of rhea, emu and ostrich, they had some birds there Ive only ever seen pics of. We made a weekend of it, we wented a hotel room and stayed for the hole 3 days. They get some pretty rare and very exotic animals and birds in there, it was very exciting to go and be there, we had a blast!!!!!!!!!!

They had monkeys there last year along with all kinds of reptiles, wolves, foxes, huge turtles, baby cats,[cant remember now if they were tigers or bobcats, they were some kind of big cat]. They had all kinds of big game like buffalo, elk, zepras, camals and alot of different kind of cows, some Ive only saw pics of before.

If you cant click on the link then type it in.

You have to watch the state laws, some of these animals or critters are not allowed to cross state lines or you have to have a permit to buy it and so on.

Well I sure wouldn't want to buy one, I'm sure we've got plenty of 'big' cats and bears here. But it would be really cool to see them! Sadly, I don't think I could take an 8-hour day trip to go to an auction

I have been there before, but I only saw ostrich and emus when I went last year, I am looking for something a little smaller than an emu. Do you think Mt. Hope will have any this spring if I go?
