So, I think I know who is laying the speckled eggs, but online searches are making me question myself.
I know it’s not my Silver Leghorn - hers are white.
I know it’s not my Ancona - hers are white.
I know it’s not my Blue Ameracaunas - theirs are blue/green.
I don’t think it’s my Golden Comets - speckled didn’t show up while they’ve been laying, only until others started laying.
I would think it’s my Bielefelders - but no one ever reports Bielefelders laying a speckled egg!
The photo of the two eggs belong to the Bielefelders eggs from Oct 28. The small one was only 20g and the bigger one was 48g. Their shape has been consistent so I really think I could say it’s definitely not the GCs. Solo photo of the first tiny egg.
The photo of the three eggs is two Bielefelders and one GC. GCs are more round and tan while the others are oblong and more brown.
Has anyone had a Bielefelders lay speckled? Maybe I was not given Bielefelders?
Added a photo of them for fun. The one I thought was laying speckled is fairly dumb (right side) and seemingly developmentally delayed - doesn’t even have a red comb. They’re the same age, received together from McMurray - which I’ll never purchase from again (but that’s another story).
Thoughts?
