So ever since we got a special needs Olive Egger chick, I've been really obsessed with them.

The black chick is our little Olive Egger named Kimmy or Kimmie.
Her feet didn't form correctly so she waddles along.
Our mother hen, Mouse, takes great care of her and is really protective.

I wanna see pictures of your Olive Egger chickens!

The black chick in this photo is supposed to be an olive egger. It's fully grown now, I'll upload a more recent photo later. Just wondering how come some olive eggers are black? I don't get how crossing an aracauna and a maran produces a black chicken

Thunders only half Olive egger, but she’s very sweet!! I’m pretty sure she’ll lay Olive eggs because that trait is dominant, but I’m no geneticist!

Hi,

I am not entirely sure if this chick is my Olive Egger chick or my Welsummer X Wyandotte chick.

The puffy cheeks are there but it is the same size as the chicks from the Wyandotte eggs.

Here is the other that might be the one from my Ameraucana hen. I can say with certainty it is either a dominant pullet or a cockerel fro the behavior.

It will be interesting to see what they grow up to look like.

That's my 3 Olive Egger pullets. They are now 20 weeks old. They were around 16-18 weeks then. They're out of Blue & Black Ameraucana hens and fathered by Black Copper Marans roosters.
