Hello! We picked up 6 Australorps and 6 EEs from a local feed store that got them from Ideal (sexed pullets). Two of my EEs seem SO different from the other 4, in looks. Additionally, one of those two is emerging as incredibly dominant in behavior, constantly chest bumping, flying at the others, etc. And when everyone settles down again, she (he?) gets them all riled up again. And this cycle repeats a couple of times before everyone moves on. Sometimes the other EEs get involved, but this particular one is something else! (And compared to my super chill Australorps it seems even more noticeable!)
I'm posting a picture here. The adorable $#!t-disturber in question is the one on the front left of the photo. The yellow one beside it is the other different-looking EE (also somewhat dominant but not nearly to the extent of the first one). The remaining four EEs look like the ones in the back of the first photo.
Based on the significantly different looks and very dominant behavior, does it sound like it's just pecking order working itself out, or is this typical for early roo-ish behavior?
PS they have a TON of space, they're indoors, heat lamp is positioned so that they can warm up when they need to with plenty of cooler places to head to, clean food and water, etc.
