I don't 100% know that it's a frustrating job but having talked to an acquaintance who used to send birds in the mail from her farm and feed store, it was gut wrenching a couple decades ago. It's probably is a lot worse now with shipping birds, and weather issues being more prevalent.

If you care to, and you have some members of your flock that love posing for the camera, or you have a funny story to share about one of them, consider sending an email to the hatchery or breeder. I'm sure most of their contact are people pissed about stuff the hatchery/breeder can't even control.


I love talking about my birds. And I don't think anyone really gets in to raising birds if they didn't really love them. So much of their job has to be so awful just hoping that they are sending birds off to survive and lead as good of lives as they can for as long as they can.
