I have an almost 4 year old japanese black rooster that I believe fought with his brother less than a week ago. They both look like they lost the fight! Well, i went in to lock everyone up today and he ended up looking bizarre. I'm assuming it's an infection post fight, but has anyone seen anything like this, and what antibiotic would you recommend? He normally has a red face, all the peach toned skin is not normal. It appears to be very annoying to him. The first 2 photos are tonight, the other is a normal picture of him. All the black in the current photo is scabbing.

He should heal eventually when the swelling goes down, and the skin heals. I would be inclined to apply some coconut oil or plain neosporin ointment to the comb and facial abrasions, but only if he is cooperative. If you see any bubbles or foam in either eye, I would apply Terramycin or Neosporin twice a day into the eye. I would keep them separate

Thanks! He's easy enough to catch and handle. He and his brother have never come to blows before, but it's spring, so...
I'm hoping the swelling goes down soon.
