incubator humidity is too high? won't change

I am hatching eggs for my local fair and need to start the eggs today. I have my incubator set up and added water this morning. I clearly aded too much as the humidity was up to 70 %. I took a bunch of water out and the incubator is now dry but the humidity is still in the 60s. I would like it to be in the 50s. I tried opening vents and it has done nothing. when I crack the lid of the incubator the humidity drops to the 20s.how do i get my humidity in the "just right" spot?

What's your ambient humidity? As in what does r weather forecast for humidity.
