I recently bought a 12 egg incubator and this will be my first time using it but the celsius on the screen keeps going from 38.0 to 37.7. I’ve had the incubator on for about 3 days and every once in a while, the incubator keeps doing that. I have two hydrometers inside and one marks 97.6 but goes down to 96.5 and usually stays there, but my other hydrometer marks 99 but goes down to 98 and usually stays there as well. Will this be a problem for the eggs?

Thermometers tell the temp.

Hygrometers tell the humidity.

I hope your thermometer is saying 97.6 and 96.5 and not your hygrometer.

The temp should be 99.5, so it's running a little bit high. If the temps are changing by the minute and not holding high or low for hours, it should be okay provided it's averaging out to around 99.5F / 37.5C.

The humidity should be 40-50% or so prior to lockdown, then up to 70% at lockdown.

I wish you a great hatch!

I think it’s both a hygrometer and a thermometer. The bottom says the humidity which is 70% and the top right says the temperature

Yes, mine are both too. Just making sure as when you said hygrometer reads 99....that worried me. 😊

What day are you on? See above where I said humidity should be 40-50% until lockdown, so guessing that's way too high right now. It'll be okay if it wasn't for too long, as humidity is an average.
