Injured chick

I know this seems to be pretty common but truthfully I figured this would be when they were a little older. We have our first flock of chicks. They are 10 days old. They started pecking at one of the chicks legs. I got it out and have it separated. Cleaned it and put Blu kote on it hoping I could put it back in with everyone else without having to separate for an extended time considering how young they still are. Unfortunately these little guys have a keen eye and are still focused on the spot. Blu kote didn’t keep them from targeting the injury. I don’t know what else I can do except continue to keep them separated until the Blu kote wears off and see what happens then. Seems like a pretty lonely situation for the injured chick. I’ve got them in close proximity so they can hear each other but they can’t see each other because the injured chick desperately wants to be with the rest and almost hurt itself trying to get to them. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Could you wrap the injury with VetWrap or a bandaid? Sure, they may peck on that, but those things taste bad. They like the taste of blood/flesh and can't get it that way.

Also, if you notice that it's one chick in particular that starts this pecking the leg more than the others, you may want to consider putting that one in a time out for a few hours.

That’s a good idea. I think I might be able to wrap it. I’d have to get creative because it goes down to the top of its outside toe so i’m not sure how well it would work, but worth a try. The time out was the next step. I’m trying to figure out if it’s the same one starting the trouble each time. Thanks!
