Three days ago I went to pick up one of my hens and when I grabbed her feet for her to rest them on my hand, she squawked loudly like she was in pain and one of her feet was shaking. I got someone else to hold her while I looked under the foot, and I noticed that she had a bit of their feed stuck there, so I plucked it out. It looked fine, there was no open wounds, her foot doesn't look swollen, she is walking absolutely fine. But even now, if I go to touch her foot to check on it she squawks loudly. She seems more irritable too and has been attacking the other hens. I marked her foot with a marker so I can know which hen and which foot it is because honestly there'd be no way to tell otherwise! The foot looks fine, she walks fine, there is nothing stuck under her foot anymore. I am so confused. If you'd like me to get a picture of her foot I can, maybe I'm not seeing something. Could it be her leg? Her leg also looks ok, but could it be a small fracture or something like that? She is about 10 months old, she's an Australorp chicken.
