Injuries to hen’s neck, what to do to stop this?

My hen (named Sophia) has plucked feathers on her neck. I have an idea that the injures are from my rooster mating. I don’t want to get rid of the rooster because I love him and he keeps the flock safe (lots of hawks in the region). Any ideas on how to help without removing the rooster? See file for photo.

She isn’t plucked she is molting. Those are pin feathers growing in. Several of my juveniles hatched last years are molting their beard and neck feathers right now.
